Current and recent projects relating to Conistone with Kilnsey parish history and archaeology are described here. 

Keld Restoration Project

In 2017 a local resident, Bob Richardson, approached the Yorkshire Dales Sustainable Development Fund  to grant-aid its clearance and restoration by a group of local volunteers, enabling them to hire assistance with the heaviest parts of the work and to replant the adjacent copse.  The volunteers are very grateful for their advice and financial support.  
The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority's Sustainable Development Fund is open to individuals, businesses, community groups or voluntary sector bodies.  It provides an accessible source of money for a range of projects that result in positive benefits for the National Park's environment, economy and communities, while enhancing and conserving local culture, wildlife and landscape.
Current Archaeological Research
Scargill House Estate
Since 2018 Debbie Hallam has conducted several small scale archaeological excavations in and around the Scargill House Estate as part of her Doctoral research at the University of Bradford.  Her research topic is Neolithic Settlement of the Yorkshire Dales - our first farmers.
